In 2003 Barb’s grandmother was a resident at Pines of Peace.  “The care and comfort that was shown to her and my family made me want to give more of myself and be part of that compassionate and caring team.”  Barb joined the Pines of Peace family in April, 2009.  “The past six months have been some of the most rewarding, enjoyable and humbling times in my life.”  “To be able to help care and comfort the families of the home as was done for mine gives me such satisfaction and pride.”  Barb and her husband Frank live in Walworth with their two children.

Jan Bigler, LPN

Jan has worked as a nurse at Sodus Central School, for summer school and as a classroom aide for 25 years.  Jan joined the Pines of Peace staff in March of 2008.  “For many years I thought about working in hospice.  Twenty seven years ago as a parent of a pediatric cancer patient was my only experience with someone dying.  I had always felt that because of what I had been given from that experience, I would have something special to offer residents and families in a setting such as Pines of Peace.”

Janet Lochrane, RN

Janet is retired from Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.  Prior to that, she heard about a home for the terminally ill being started in Ontario.  From the interviewing process, to her first shift as a per diem nurse, when the home opened, to the present time she’s felt a sense of warmth and caring in the home-like setting.   Janet and her husband Tom moved to Ontario after living in Walworth for 35 years. “It’s nice living closer to the Pines of Peace family and to be a part of this much needed ministry.”
